What PathWays is
Indiana PathWays for Aging is a managed long-term services and supports program for qualifying Medicaid members, generally age 60 or older. UnitedHealthcare is one of the managed care entities (MCEs) administering PathWays. The health plan and participant-centered process—not FFAC—determine eligibility, authorization, covered services, and approved hours.
FFAC services for participating members
FFAC offers Attendant Care and Home & Community Assistance within its approved provider scope. The member’s authorization and service plan control which service and activities may be delivered.
Provider choice and availability
A UnitedHealthcare PathWays member may ask whether FFAC is available within the applicable provider-choice process. Network participation does not guarantee FFAC can accept every case or immediately staff every county or schedule.
What FFAC needs to check
- Member’s county and UnitedHealthcare PathWays enrollment
- Authorized service and approximate hours or schedule, if known
- Whether an existing caregiver wants to apply
- Whether the member is changing from another provider
