Staffing problem

Having trouble getting your authorized hours staffed?

Authorization does not always mean a caregiver is immediately available. If part or all of an authorized service is not being staffed, you may have provider-choice options within your program and network rules.

What to confirm before making a change

  1. Confirm the authorized service and hours with the case manager, care coordinator, or service coordinator.
  2. Ask what provider-choice and provider-change steps apply.
  3. Tell FFAC the county, waiver or program, PathWays health plan if applicable, service, schedule, and whether an existing caregiver is available.
  4. Wait for FFAC to confirm current program, network, and staffing availability.
  5. Do not cancel current services until a coordinated transition and start date are confirmed.

What FFAC can evaluate

FFAC may review whether it can accept the authorized Attendant Care or Home & Community Assistance service, whether an existing caregiver may apply, and whether current staffing or recruitment capacity fits the requested schedule. FFAC cannot guarantee that every authorized hour can be staffed.
